About Academic Affairs
Academic Affairs encompasses all academic units of the UC Merced campus, including graduate and undergraduate education, the undergraduate programs, research centers, and the UCM library. The Executive Vice Chancellor (EVC) oversees the educational and research mission of the campus and is responsible for ensuring that UCM maintains the highest academic standards in teaching, research, and public service. The EVC oversees the recruitment, advancement, and retention of all faculty, deans, and other academic leaders and is responsible for campus academic planning, programs, and budgeting. Academic Affairs’ dynamic and diverse faculty, staff, and students reflect University of California's status as one of the leading research universities in the country. The schools, research programs, and library are the organizations that keep academic excellence thriving at UC Merced.
